• Basics of Visual Testing, Lighting Techniques, Material Attributes, Visual Perception, Accept / Reject Criteria, Recording and Reporting
• Liquid Penetrant & Magnetic Particle Testing Procedures, Detectability of Defects, Interpretation and Reporting, Post Test Procedures, Calculations, Selection of Appropriate Techniques
• Detection of Defects by Ultrasonic Testing, Factors Affecting the Performance of the Ultrasonic Test, Codes of Practice and Standards, Conducting and Recording the Test, Interpretation of Test Results
• Production of written instruction, determine the best inspection techniques for the individual parts, process the inspection test pieces, record and report defects from known Datum markers, carry out pre test calibration checks, post test procedures

• Be able to list and define different defects that occur in welding shown through Non-Destructive Examination
• Be able to explain the purpose of the Equipment, Application, and Standard techniques required to perform major non-destructive examinations of welds
• Perform pre test, calibration checks, post test procedures and adhere to the specific Code, Standard, or Specification related to each testing method and perform the test accordingly
• Identify defects and prepare detailed test reports as per requirement
